How to Start an Voice Call

Prefer to keep it voice-only? Here’s how:

  • Open the melpapp and head to the contact you want to call and Tap the Voice Call icon in the top-right corner.

Sit tight — your contact will get the ring and can jump in as soon as they answer.

How to Start a Video Call

Want a face-to-face conversation? Go video:

  • Open Melp and go to the conversation with the person or group and hit the Video Call icon in the top-right corner.

As soon as they answer, you're connected — camera on and ready to roll!

Works for One-on-One, Group, or Team Calls

Whether you're calling one person, a group, or an entire team, it’s the same smooth process:
Just tap the Voice or Video Call button in the chat — and you’re in!

Pro Tip: For the best experience, make sure you’ve granted Melp permission to access your microphone and camera in your device settings.

Receiving Voice or Video Calls on Melp

When someone calls you on Melp, you’ll see a real-time call pop-up across all your connected devices whether it’s your desktop, laptop, tablet, or phone. No matter where you’re working, you’re always just one tap away from joining the conversation.

Incoming Call Options : Answer, decline and Message

When the call notification appears, you can:

  • Answer — Ready to chat? Click this to immediately jump into the call.
  • Decline — Not the right time? Hit decline to dismiss the call.
  • Message — Can’t talk? Send a quick response instead, letting the caller know you’ll follow up.

Pro Tip: If you’re logged in on multiple devices, the call will ring on all of them. You can answer from whichever device is most convenient for you. Melp makes it easy to stay connected on your terms.

Team or Group Conferences

Need to bring your team together for a quick sync or an in-depth discussion? Melp makes it easy to host voice and video conferences directly within your Teams or Groups — no extra tools needed.

How to Start a Team Conference

  • Navigate to the Team where you want to start the call and click on Voice Call icon to start a voice-only conference, or Video Call icon to launch a full video meeting.

Your selected team members will receive a call notification, and they can join instantly — keeping everyone on the same page and the conversation flowing.

How to Start a Group Conference

  • Navigate to the Group where you want to start the call and click on Voice Call icon to start a voice-only conference, or Video Call icon to launch a full video meeting.

All group members will receive a call notification and can join the conference instantly — ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.

Missed the Call? No Problem.

If someone misses the initial call notification, they can still join the ongoing call at any time by:

  • Navigating to the Active Call section and Clicking Join from any device or platform — Web, iOS, or Android

Personal Room – Your Always-Ready Meeting Space

Melp’s Personal Room is your own virtual conference space — always ready, always yours.
It’s a unique, private meeting link you can share with anyone to instantly connect and collaborate — no scheduling required.

Why Use Personal Room?

  • Easy Access: Share your permanent Personal Room link with teammates or clients — no re-invites needed. They can join anytime.
  • Instant Connection: No account needed! External users can join directly using your link — perfect for quick check-ins.
  • Convenience: Start a meeting on the fly or use the same link to meet regularly with trusted contacts.

Note: The link and meeting ID are permanent — avoid using it for back-to-back meetings or with people you don’t meet regularly, for privacy and security.

How to Share Your Personal Room Link

Want to share your Personal Meeting Room in seconds? It’s super easy:

  • Click your profile icon in the top-right corner and, select "My Meeting Room," and your room link will be instantly copied to your clipboard.

Paste and share it anywhere — email, message, or any platform — to instantly invite someone into your room.

How to Access Your Personal Room

  • From the Dashboard, click Go to Room. and you’ll be redirected to your private meeting space instantly.

How Invitees Join Your Personal Room

  • Open the shared link in any browser. Enter the Name and Email then click on Ask to join and Wait for the host to accept the request.

How Does the Host Manage Join Requests in Their Personal Room

When someone requests to join your Personal Room, Melp makes sure you never miss it.

Follow these simple steps to respond instantly:

  • When a user sends a join request, a "Go to Room" pop-up will appear on your screen and click Go to Room to immediately navigate to your Personal Room.
  • Click Admit to approve the request and let the guest into the meeting. The call starts as soon as they’re admitted!

AI Summarization

No more scrambling for notes — Melp’s AI Summarization has you covered.

  • When the moderator clicks “Start Recording” under the More menu, a popup appears.
  • You’ll see two options:
  • Toggle ON “Receive detailed meeting summary via email.”
  • Save recording locally (optional).
  • Once the meeting ends, a summary is automatically emailed to the moderator.

Only moderators or designated admins can start AI Summarization.

Breakout Rooms

Need small-group discussions during a large team call? Melp makes it effortless.

  • Moderators can create Breakout Roomsfor different teams within a single call.
  • Participants can jump between rooms as needed.
  • The moderator can move users from one room to another — perfect for managing collaboration in real time.

Live Captions in Call

Never miss a word in your meetings again! With Live Captions, Melp automatically converts spoken words into real-time text during your calls. Whether someone has a different accent, you’re in a noisy place, or you just prefer reading along, captions make every conversation crystal clear.

And the best part? No matter what language someone speaks, you can select your preferred language and see the captions instantly translated into it. Live Captions aren’t just helpful—they’re empowering. They make calls more inclusive for everyone and ensure you can stay fully engaged without asking, “Can you repeat that?”

Screen Sharing

Present with confidence.
Share your entire screen, a specific window, or a browser tab — seamlessly.
Ideal for walkthroughs, presentations, or demos.

Whiteboard

Sketch, brainstorm, or explain visually.

  • Moderators can open the Whiteboard for everyone in the call — perfect for sketching or brainstorming.
  • Everyone in the session can draw, write, and collaborate in real time.
  • Need to save your work? Download the board anytime for future reference.

Heads up: When the moderator closes the Whiteboard, it won’t disappear for others. Each participant needs to close it manually from the “More” menu.
If someone joins the call later, they’ll still see the latest Whiteboard and can close it themselves when they’re done.

MelpPad

A live, collaborative notepad with drawing and formatting.

  • All participants can contribute simultaneously — type notes, draw visuals, or format content together in real time.
  • Use text formatting or sketch freely to express your ideas.
  • Import your own documents into MelpPad to work on with the group.
  • Export or download your notes/sketches for future reference.

Virtual Background & Face Center

You can find Virtual Background options under the "More" menu during a call.

  • Virtual Background lets you blur or replace your background with an image.
  • The Face Center option is available inside the virtual background menu.
  • Face Center keeps your face aligned using smart auto-framing.

Note: If you've already applied a virtual background using a custom image, Face Center will not work to avoid interference.

Live Streaming

Broadcast your call straight to YouTube.

  • From the More menu, click “Start Live Stream.”
  • Enter your YouTube channel key and you’re live — great for webinars or public meetings!

Share Video

Play videos for all participants, together.

  • Click “Share Video” from the More menu.
  • Paste any video link (like YouTube).
  • Everyone in the call can view the video in sync — no more “Can you see my screen?”

Share Audio

Let everyone hear exactly what you're hearing.
Share audio works just like screen sharing — but for sound.

  • Stream music, audio clips, podcasts, or any other system sound directly to all participants.
  • Just select “Share Audio” from the More menu, and everyone can listen in real time.
